Aves and I made a trip over to Grapevine to meet Aimee, Jack and Finn at the Aquarium. It was so great to catch up with Aimee and to see the boys. I must say I wasnt too impressed with the Aquarium, but the kiddos had a great time. I think next time we will try the Dallas Aquarium.

FIRST DANCE PERFORMANCE

Aves had her first dance performance at Holiday Magic. I was really nervous on how she would do since she hasnt liked going to dance ever since I have put her in tumbling. But she walked on the stage like a big girl with a big wave and did what all the other girls did....stood there and stared into the audience. She did give a little shake here and there. So glad I got it all on video!

HALLOWEEN FUN

What a great fun Halloween we had this year. A week before Halloween a friend of mine had a Halloween party for kiddos. There were games, a cake walk and yummy food. Aves was a princess b/c her tinkerbell costume hadnt come in it.

We made our way to a pumkpin patch to buy pumpkins to decorate. Then on Halloween night we headed to our church for the fun festivties. Aves enjoyed playing games, decorating a cookie, doing the cake walk over and over and the bounce houses. The night didnt end so well since she was full of candy. Made for a major meltdown at bedtime. But some great memories were made!!

Aves has never been much of an independent player, which wears me out. She has actually gotten a little better. She will go in her play room and put her apron on and play with her kitchen....for about 5-10 minutes before calling me in to share food with her. I caught her the other day in her apron and told her to strick some poses. Love her fun crazy personality.

SOPHIE'S "TANGLED" BIRTHDAY PARTY

Aves friend Sophie had a Tangled birthday party last weekend. All the kiddos got a long braided piece of yarn made to look like hair that you could tie in her hair and wear. They also got to do some painting and then have their picture taken in the castle. It was a super cute idea and all the kiddos had a great time. Thanks for letting us spent your birthday with you Sophie!

ARBORETUM

We went to the Arboretum in Dallas with a friend and their kiddos that live down the street. The kiddos had a great time running around, jumping over the hay and getting their face painted. Aves couldnt decide if she wanted her face painted so she just got glitter. We enjoyed a nice picnic and shortly after that headed home because the kiddos were getting tired. The Arboretum is truly something to go see but dont expect to spend very long their with young children.

FALL FESTIVAL

Austin's parents were in town and his mom wanted to stop by Calloway's. Turned out they were having a Fall Festival going on. Aves got to make a pumpkin, bounce in the bouce house and enjoy some popcorn. Aves had a great time and was happy her Gaga wanted to make trip to Calloways.

BIG STEPS

This is a big deal in the Brooks' house. Aves does not like anything being on her feet especially sand. The 3 times we have gone to the beach and do not actually get to spend anytime on the beach because she will have a serious meltdown. So about a month ago we went to a playdate on Lake Arlington, Because we havent gotten any rain the lake was so dry and there was a huge area for all the kiddos to play in the sand. I was very hesitate to take Aves this day, but we try not to sit at home so we went. I'm glad I took her because she walked around in the sand. It didnt last long, but its a BIG STEP!

CENTRAL MARKET FOR DINNER AND PLAY

We met Eric and Julie and their kiddos at Central Market for dinner and to let the kiddos play. It was great time being that the weather was not to hot and the play area wasnt to crowded. The food was great and we got to enjoy a little adult time while the kiddos played. We will for sure be doing this again.

CONNOR'S 3rd BIRTHDAY

One of our good friends little boy had his 3rd birthday at Little Gym. All the kiddos had a great time running, climbing, throwing balls, and poping bubbles. So glad we got to share this special day with him. (Sad I didnt get a picture of the birthday boy)

Happy First day of School. I had such a hard time trying to figure out where I wanted Aves to go. I know, she is only 2 but I strongly believe this is when they learn so much. I finally decided to put her in Pantego Christian Academy and couldnt be more happier with the decision. I love the class size, how hands on the teachers are with the kiddos and especially her coming home telling me the bible versus she has learned. Which are only 3-4 words. It scares me to death to think about what the school systems will be like when she gets to Middle or High school. Got to insteal the goods while we can.

Family trip to Florida

We took a family trip to Florida back in August. Every time we go out of town with or without Aves she gets sick. It's usually her ears, but this trip turned into something more serious. We left on a Saturday late in the afternoon and headed to Austin's parents house in Henderson where we stayed the night. We stopped in Tyler to get dinner and Aves didnt want anything. If you know her at all she doesnt skip a meal. She then said her tummy hurts, so I immediatly took her temp, 103.7. SERIOUSLY! So we found the first place to get something for her tummy. As soon as we got to Austin's parents off to the potty she went. She woke up all night having to go to the potty. She only threw up once Sunday morning but continued to have to go poopy. She was acting fine so we waited a couple hours and then got on the road. All the way to Mississippi she would roll in a ball and cry complaining her tummy hurt and we stopped a dozen times for her to poopy. I just knew the little virus she had was gonna spread to all of us throughout the week. We decided to spend the night in Mississippi and Aves slept all night so I thought she was on the way to recovery. Boy was I wrong. When we got to Florida I told Austin we needed to take her to a walk in clinic and he kept telling me she was fine. So after spotting blood in her poop, I said I am taking her. We ended up in the emergency room with a dehydrated little one that had to have fluids, x-rays and blood taken. We had to stay at the hospital until late that evening and was sent home with some medication. We were informed after arriving home she had Salmonella posioning. Aves still had a wonderful time even though for the first several days she had many bathroom breaks throughout the day.

Despite the little uh oh, we still had a great week spenting most of our days by the pool since Aves was not a fan of the sand. Austin's mom and I enjoyed a morning of shopping at the outlets and bought the best carmeal apple ever. Austin and I enjoyed a date night in Seaside one night while his parents watched Aves for us. We all had dinner looking out over the ocean, and we took Aves to Fundpuckers where she got to see the alligators, and got a ladybug balloon. We also, went dolphin watching, which Aves loved. Even though we had a little scare, we all had a great time and I'm looking for to our next family vacation.

Aves got tubes July 14. I was a nervous wreak for her but felt sorry that she had been in so much pain since around March. She was getting an ear infection only in her right ear about every 2-3 weeks. In June when Aistin and I were in Mexico it erupted again. So when we got back we met with and ENT to have tubes put in. She was such a trooper and we haven't had any infections since having tubes put in. Praise the Lord!

Chuck E Cheese

Aves had her first experience at Chuck E Cheese back in July with Julie, Connor and Jesselyn. She wasnt so sure what to think...but enjoyed dancing when Chucky came out.
I remember going to Chuck E Cheese as a little girl and loved it. Cant wait to take her back.

Who needs toys when you have boxes. She loved to get inside the box and rock back and forth until the box would roll backwards. I was so scared she was gonna get hurt. So I decided it was time to calm down and watch a movie. What's better then movie and popcorn...hopefully soon I will have enough guts to take her to a REAL movie.

Aves attended her first concert with her friend Connor. Aves loves the Wiggles.....they dance and sing which is her favorite things to do. I was really nervous because I didnt know how she would act. She was a little unsure at first but once they started singing she got up and danced the whole time. It was the cutest thing. Hopefully I can post videos later.

Fun Time in Tyler

Every 5th weekend Austin is on call so Aves and I pack up and head to Tyler. Its a great time for Aves to spend time with her Nana and for me to see friends and enjoy a break.

Aves actually got to meet one of my high school friends that I havent seen in like 10 years and her little boy Tanner. They had a great time at the park and playing in the water. It was great to catch up with an old friend.

Then Aves got to hangout with Addison. Emily was my college roommate at Baylor and our girls are just 6 months apart. Even though we dont leave close we hope they grow to be great friends too.

I have very mix feelings about being a SAHM. Somedays I enjoy it while others I wish I was a career woman. It's days like these that make me enjoy it....she lined her chairs together with a few babies to enjoy the movie. So sweet. She then decided to take a stroll around the house it her rain boots. Wow, how time goes by so fast. Sorry but most post will be short and sweet with pictures.

Aves had a great Easter...we started with a visit to my mom's house where Aves got to hunt Eggs. Then we got together with some wonderful friends at the park and had the kids hunt eggs. Lastly, Easter weekend we spent it in Henderson with the Brooks' family. Aves got to hunt eggs and color them for the first time. Whitney, our niece got married on Saturday. It was a pretty relaxing outside wedding.

June 23, marks an important day in the Brooks house. Aves pooped on the potty. She first tee tee on the potty at 18 months and has many of times since then. I just have not been ready to take the time to do the whole potty training. So I decided i would start the first of June. She did great with tee tee, but when it came to pooping she would tell me she needed to go, sit on potty, get down and go poop in her playroom. So I finally told her if she pooped on the potty she would get a play house for outside. So on June 23rd, she pooped and you will never guess her first response. I GET PLAYHOUSE! That was one expensive poop!!! We are extremely excited of our big girl and to get rid of the diapers.

This little girl keeps us on our toes. We never know if she will be carrying her purses, pushing her babies, playing dressup, putting on my makeup, or throwing/banging everything in site. So I decided to carrying on the Brooks' family tradition and buy her a tball set. Daddy really enjoys teaching her how to hit and especially how to throw. I do see a sporty little girl in our future.

Aves has turned into a little singer. Singing songs has become an all time favorite of hers. It's hard getting it on video b/c she wants to be in charge of the camera, but I was able to get a sneak peak.

We were taking turns (working on that ) singing Twinkle Twinkle and so I decided to get the camera out. The first few times didnt work because she wanted me to sing. ha! Not on video. So you will see her say NO... ENJOY!

Aves is a little ham. She will dress up girly girly, but will also get crazy with the boys. This is her playing with her friend Jude at the Vines house. Jude decided he wanted to wear Aves bow and was proud to do so. Too funny. Aves has meet some really good friends at her MDO program. I am so glad I decided to put her in this year. I have seen how much she has grown over this year. My little baby is just growing so fast. Love you my sweet Aves.

At the end of every month at United Dance, where Aves takes tumble they let the parents come in and watch. This is Aves doing her thang at the end of January. Christmas...was a wonderful holiday. Christmas eve we all made cookies for Santa and then made a birthday cake for Jesus's birthday day. I think Aves ate more cookies then she decorated, but it was a lot of fun. Christmas morning Aves got up and was so excited about her horsey that she ran straight towards her new kitchen. TOO FUNNY! I think she was a little overwhelmed at first with all the gifts. We slowly opened as she played with her new toys. My dad and Amelia came over and we had brunch and Christmas with them....then off to Henderson. Yes, Christmas is so busy for us since not all our family lives here.

We had Christmas with Austin parents and then got up Sunday morning to head over to my moms in Tyler to have Christmas there. I can say we had plenty to eat within the 48 hours of traveling we did. Sunday evening we headed back home and unpacked all the wonderful gifts we recieved. We are very blessed to have the family we do. Thanks everyone for everything!

Over the holidays one of the mothers in Aves class put a play date together at her house. It was so nice to see how the kids play together when at school and to get to know the mothers. The kiddos all played nicely together and it couldnt have been a prettier day!

This year we decided to take Aves to Country Critters since she is so into horseys and train rides right now. She had such a great time petting the goats and sheeps, riding the hayride, pony and picking her own pumkin. The goats scared her at first and then she warmed up to them and didnt want to leave. She wasnt crazy about the bounce house which was a big surprise since she is such a wild little girl. Maybe because their were a lot of people she didnt know bouncing. We all had such a great time and cant wait to go back next year.

19 Months

A little behind on posting the monthly pictures since she is actually 20 months now. OOPS!

So what were you up to.... You were a very active little girl. Sitting still is just not your style. You love running, climbing, jumping off the couching (which is a no no), and being outside.

Just recently you can not stand for us to brush your teeth especially at night, it is a fight to get the brush in your mouth. but you sure love to chew on your toothbrush (see below) , which could only mean one thing..TEETH.

You are cutting 4 teeth right now. Before they broke through the gums you were a very fussy baby, but now you are back to your outgoing self. Still enjoying chewing on things.

Binky has become a friend again. I think it has alot to do with you cutting so many teeth at once. As long as you stay busy you dont think about it. Hopefully soon we can go back to only having it at nap and bedtime.

You have really started talking and saying more words instead of using your Chinese talk. I just love hearing you say new words. Some of the words you are saying: daddy, mama, nana, papaw, gaga, car, cookie, cake, binky, nose,teeth, squirrel, cat, cow,horsey,pig, duck, dog, blue, purple, green, pink, potty, poopoo, cracker, dora, ball, shoes, more, please,tickle, I love you, Maddie, lovey, raisins, green beans, movie, banana, hi, bye bye, cow, turtle, kitten, mole, jeannie, phone, cheese, horsey, outside I know there are many more I'm forgetting.

This about gave me a heart attack when I looked out the window and saw Austin pushing Aves. Really? Is my little girl big enough to be able to swing in a BIG GIRL SWING? She was loving it. I made sure Austin stayed close by (just not for the picture) and I made sure not to watch. I'm to afraid she will let go. Love this little "BIG" girl!

First day of Tumbling

Aves had her first day of tumbling on Wednesday. She loved her back leotard and pranced around the house before we left. I wasnt sure how she was going to do since she isnt use to being left without me in sight. Her teacher said she was clingy at first but as soon as some of the girls started doing things she jumped right in. She didnt want to leave the class when it was over. After class Aves ran up to me and I asked if she had fun and she shook her head with a big grin. Cant wait to take her back next week.

Aves ate spaghetti for the first time at 19 months, yes I said 19 months. She is just like me, a picky eater. I hoped she would take after her daddy. It has been so hard to find new things for her to eat, but now we can add spaghetti with turkey meat to the list.

Big girl hair cut

Aves got her first hair cut in a salon on Tuesday. Her first haircut was done at our house by a friends sister who cuts hair. I wasnt sure how Aves was going to react since she is not comfortable with people she doesnt know. She wasnt to scared about the chair but as soon as she put the cover up on Aves started to fight it. I calmed her with fruit snacks! Then came the cutting....the lips puckered and eyes got watery...but never a tear. Laura was really good with Aves and she warmed up real fast. Aves looks like a little girl again since we cut the long stringy length off.

Shoes, boy am I in trouble. As soon as we get up and get dressed we must try on at least 3-4 pairs of shoes. Its a fight in the morning for her to leave one pair on. She will also put my shoes and get so frustrated because they are too big which makes it hard for her to walk around. My little smart girl has come up with a soultion. Since she cant keep my shoes on, she will wear my socks as shoes/boots. She is just to much. Gotta love her imagination!

My little one year old is not afraid to let you know how old she is....just ask and she will show! Also, I have started counting when she doesnt listen to me the first time. As soon as I say one, my little smarty pants will say two, three. ha! I just laugh, so much for teaching her to pick up her toys.

I put Aves in swim lesson the end of June for 2 weeks and was very surprised by what she learned. Do I think she could save her life, no but if she were to fall in she defiantly wouldn't freak out and start swallowing water immediately. I was impressed how they make the young ones dive off the side of the pool. The instructor said b/c most kids at this age are jumping in the water reaching for something so they have them dive in and swim to get them use to the feeling. I would highly recommend putting your children in swim lessons at a young age so worth the money.

So about 3 months ago we had to cover all door ways and open areas with plastic while we were getting our wood floors installed. There was a piece of blue tape that we forgot to get down and have been reminding Austin for the last 3 months yes I said 3 months to please get it down. He just assumed no one saw it because our ceilings are so high. That was until the Morgans came over. Blaine or should I refer to him as MONKEY decided he would shimmy his way up the brick to get it down. I think it was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Thanks so much Blaine! Now we must get that monkey back to the zoo!!! ha!

Summer is here and we couldnt be more excited. Our favorite water park Bedford Splash opened on Friday so we headed over there with our friends the Morgans. Aves was not afraid at all of the water. She would just take off, and of course under she went several times. Didnt stop her, she would get right up and off she went again. I truly have a water baby. Cant wait till our next trip to the water park.

Sunday after church and nap time we headed over to a friends house for a little swim. It took Aves a little while to get use to the water again but once she did she wanted to be let loose. We really had to keep an eye on her. She loved jumping off the steps into daddys arms or being thrown in the air. I know for sure swim lessons are in our near future. She loves the water and doesnt realize that she cannot swim without us hold on to her. I forgot my camera so I took videos instead.

So every morning while Aves eats breakfast I turn on cartoons hoping she will become a little interested in them. They will grab her attention for a minute or so if singing and dancing is going on, but as soon as the music stops she is onto something else. She is to cute dancing to hot dog....she working on getting her turns down, ha!

Happy 16 Months!! Wow what a fun and interesting stage we are at right now. One things for sure she keeps me on my toes. Aves is into and trying to figure out everything. Oh and man does she have a temper. When she doesnt get her way or is trying to figure something out and you step in to help you better watch out b/c you might get kicked by the hands or feet that start going ninety to nothing. When she gets in trouble she is good at point at something else and laughing to try to change the situtation. Oh boy do we have our hands full.

A few girly things she is into:

having her hair done in the mornings, brushing her hair, pretending to put on makeup, wearing about 3 different necklace at a time, carry purses around the house, spitting when brushing teeth (not girly but had to add). If I am doing it you better believe she will turn right around and do the same thing.

Happy 3 years to the most wonderful husband ever. I'm very blessed to have married a man who first and fore most puts the Lord first, provides, loves and takes care of his family. He is a very selfless person and always put Avery and I before himself. Austin, Thanks for being you, I love you so much and cant wait to see what the future holds for us.

So this year on our anniversary we decided to take a trip to Mexico without Aves. Our parents were so kind to watch Aves while we were gone. Thanks so much. We stayed at the Excellence (adult only) in Mexico and man did we get treated like Royalty from the minute we arrived. We were greeted at the resort with a cool towel and a glass of Champagne. After we checked in we had someone escort us to our rooms and infor us about all the restaurants/bars/pools and ever show us where they were. I was so impressed. I get so frustrated at a resort when I cant find a restaurant or know what type of food it serves. All the staff was friendly and very helpful. We had such a great time and look forward to going back.

I just love to hear sweet Aves laugh. Austin was pretending like he was throwing a baseball and Aves thought it was the funniest thing....thats why Aves looks like she is throwing something right when the video starts. Then he decided to jump right in front of her, ahh the things you do for your kids. She again would laugh with the loudest belly laugh ever. So I had to get this on video and waited to long to get the flip and only got the end of all the fun going on, then I ran out of space on the flip. Ugg...

Wow!! these monthly pictures get harder and harder, but still so fun to see how much she changes. Aves is full of energy, love, and into everything. My new word has become NO MA'AM! I'm sure I sound like a tape recorder. Aves loves turning the tv on and off....anything with buttons and a light she will push and laugh afterwards. She really knows how to push my buttons too. ha! We love you so much Aves.

Happy Easter!! What a wonderful busy weekend we had. We left Friday afternoon and headed to Tyler to spend the night with my mother. The Easter bunny had already made his stop by Nana's so Aves had lots of goodies waiting on her. Saturday we stopped by and saw a few friends had lunch at Austin's favorite place Don Juan's and then made the short trip over to Henderson to spend the rest of the weekend with The Brooks Family. Saturday we hung around the Feed Store the own and poor Aves got her first boo boo. She only cried for a minute and off running again. Sunday we got up and headed to church and then back to Gaga and papaw for a big ole lunch. Poor Aves was so tired so we laid her down and she slept until 330. We had to wait forever for her to hunt eggs. She is the youngest grandbaby and the only one to hunt eggs, so she got them all. It was so fun watching her, especially when she got so upset with the money egg b/c it didnt make any noise. I give her a couple of years and she will be throwing a fit b/c she didnt get the money egg. What a great weekend we had spending time with family. We love you all.

Austin, Nana and I took Aves to see the Easter bunny during our visit to Tyler this past weekend. I wasnt to sure how she would act since we didnt have a nice visit with Santa. Last year meeting the Easter Bunny was a breeze since she was only 3 months old. She did not like him at all at first but the longer she sat there the more comfortable she got. Poor bunny...cant imagine what he/she is feeling having a screaming baby on his lap. He/she was super patient with us. What great memories to share with our sweet Aves.

Aves first hunt

Last weekend we went to have Easter with my dads side of the family. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Aves got to enjoy her first Easter hunt. I was surprised as to how well she did. She didnt want to put the eggs in her basket unless she already had 2 in her hand. The candy/money in the eggs is what grabbed her attention the most. She will be a pro next year...so all you big kids better watch out. Thanks papa and Mimi for making her 2nd Easter so enjoyable.

What a day....I never imagined how hard it would be to see my sick baby suffer so much like she did today. A stomach bug is going around and Aves was lucky enough to get it. Austin gets her out of bed this morning and as he was changing her diaper there was a little poopy. I walked into her room about that time and was like yuck it stinks in here and he said she has a poopy diaper. So we then put her in her highchair for her morning milk and she didnt want it. That is so not like her. Then Austin noticed stuff in her hair and he said, she has boogers in her hair. I said that isnt boogers. I said you think its throw up???? So he goes and checks her bed and sure enough in the corner there was the throw up. That is what the awful smell was...and so it began. She threw up all morning. She really wasnt sure what to do and it just broke my heart. I couldnt hold back the tears at times, especially when she would cry. By the end of the day she was able to hold bread and bananas down and was actually playing. She is now sleeping and I hope she sleeps through the night and feels better tomorrow. I am also praying that both Austin and I do not get it, but it is spreading fast and everyone I know that has had it spreads it to the whole family.

Floors finally....

We finally decided to get hardwoods put in our house, but never imagined what we would have to go through to get them. The date was set for Feb 17, so the night before we hung plastic everywhere you could imagine, not sure if it really made a difference. The next morning the guys showed up at 730 am to get started and didnt finsh until about 5:30. Aves and I spent the day with a friend and her kiddos. That evening Austin had beat me back to the house and so he called me and I asked how dusty it was and he said it was bad...i thought he was kidding. When I got home I realized he wasnt kidding at all. I wish I would have gotten pictues...i bet if you were to stop by you could probably find some dust hanging out somewhere.
So the floors are in....we had to wait 8 days for them to come back and scrape and stain them. Yes I did clean up all the dust in between that time just so they could come back and make more dust. It took them a full day to scrape the wood and 3 days to stain them and 1 extra day for it to completely dry. During the 3 days of stainning we couldnt walk on the floors, so I went to Tyler and Austin stayed with a friend. Boy was I glad to get back home and clean and be settled again. I will say now it was all worth it. We love our new floors...now we are on a new mission to find a new table and living room furniture...never thought it would be so hard. I think I have been everyone and cant find exactly what I want. Those pictures will come...not sure when. ha!

14 months...wow how she has changed. Aves is everywhere and into everything. She is learning so much and developing new skills daily. It's amazing how fast she picks up on things now. She is eating where when you do something she wants to repeat
What she is up to....
- 12-18 clothing
- took her first trip to mcdonalds
- picky eater...will not eat chick-fil-a nuggets and if you know me I love chick-fil-a, just discovered she will eat mcdonalds and I cant stand mcdonalds
- loves to have her hair done...that include blow drying it. Yes every morning she will go to our bathroom and pull out the hair dryer. So darn cute
- still take 2 naps
- knows where her belly button is
- loves books
- will not watch cartoons
- loves to swing
- loves to be outside
- loves to be tickled and loves to tickle you and will make the tickle sound
- tries taking her diaper off now
- words she has said....dada, mama, necklace, ball, yes, thank you, papa, gaga, duck, dog she is really good about repeating a word if you practice with her.

Never knew at 13 months shoes would be that important....I was getting Aves dressed for the day and as I was taking off her pj's she spotted her rain boots. Yes, she did wear them the day before. She started throwing a fit so I handed them to her. She immediately tried putting them on, so I did what every mother would do helped her a little bit and ran to get the camera. Why did I run...she had a blast running around the house with her diaper and rain boots on. Love and Cherish moments like these.

13 Months

Where did my baby go? She looks so grown up in her 13 month pictures. I couldnt believe she actually sat there while I took her picture. I couldnt get her to stand, she just wanted to sit and pose for me. To cute. She so is at the fun age, not that she wasnt fun before but she is able to interact more, and of course throw some fits if she doesnt get her way. We are enjoying every minute with her and watching her learn something everyday.

What am I up to:
- Still loves to give kisses and hugs
- chases maddie (our dog) around the house
- can point to nose, mouth and belly button (of course on her terms)
- still not into cartoons, I can get her to watch yo gabba gabba for a couple mins
- loves dancing to country music on the tv and in the car

Aves first trim

Aves had her first trim back in January...the 8th to be exact. I know I know I am a little late in posting this. A good friend of mine sister cuts hair and since she was coming over to drop off Aves birthday outfit we thought we would have her trim up Aves mullet. She acted so good..of course we had to give her something to play with the whole time and with Melissa wonderful singing (in the video) she was well entertained. On the other hand daddy did not want her to get her hair cut. He freaked when I told him we were going to trim the back and sides up. Finally after talking him into it he loved the finally out come.

My little Aves turned 1 years old (Jan 6th). Where did the year go?
We took Aves to La Madelines the morning of her birthday since we had Lifegroup and wouldnt be able to spend the evening of her birthday with her. She got to enjoy a blueberry muffin and ate every bit of it. We gave her, her chair when she first woke up but did the other gifts when daddy got off work. I think she is going to love her new chair she got...just not sure if she can sit steal long enough to actually sit in it. ha!
We are so excited to see the new growth and changes Aves will go through this year. Age one should be a fun age as she will be more moblie and able to interact more...which also will probably make me more tired by the end of the day. ha! We love our little Aves so much!

Aves turned one on January 6th and we celebrated with friends and family on Saturday Jan 9th. The party was great fun and I want to thank everyone who was able to help us celebrate our sweet baby girls first birthday. I cannot believe she is already one. Everyone told me to cherish every minute because it will fly by...they werent lying. I have loved staying home with Aves and watching her change daily. She is so full of happiness and I am ready to see the next stage in her life. We love you so much Avery Grace....even though you will not remember this day, those who love you will!

SANTA CAME

SANTA CAME....We woke up Christmas morning to snow on the ground and since Aves slept in Austin we out and tried to build a snow man. I had to beg him to come in so we could do presents with Aves. I was so excited to see how Aves would react on her first Christmas. She did pretty good since she is still at the age inwhich she doesnt really understand. At times she would really try opening her presents then of course would get distracted with another toy. After we got done with our family presents we all got cleaned up since Papaw and Mimi were coming over for lunch. We did presents with them and then headed out towards Henderson to have Christmas with the Brooks family. Then on Saturday morning we headed over to Nana's (my moms) house in Tyler to have Christmas with her. Yes, we had a very busy Christmas weekend. It was all worth it and was so glad to be able to share Christmas with family.

Austin and I took our first trip without Aves to New York about a week ago. It was one of the hardest things for me to do.... to leave her but she was in good hands. (Nana and Gaga watched her.) We had such a great time....seeing a few plays, going to the Statue of Liberty, going to the immigration site, shopping and enjoying the fine dining of New York oh and we got to see lots of snow since we were there during the snow blizzard. I actually was scared we were not going to be able to get back since our flight out was the day after the storm hit, but some how we did.

A few weeks ago we spent the evening at the Lewis's and Austin became best buds with Caleb. They were singing and playing and it was so darn cute. The boys went and picked up food and drinks from Sonic....gthats when we discovered that Caleb loves ice. Whatever Austin was doing Caleb wanted to do the same.

10 Months

What a month so far.....this month started with Avery having a double ear infection. I just thought she was teething which was causing her to have a runny nose and a low grade fever, boy was I wrong. Within 2 days after taking her in over the weekend to the on call doctor her eardrum erupted. She woke up with blood all in her bed and we couldnt figure out where it came from. There is no sign of blood anywhere. So I called the doctor....she suggested and erupted eardrum and asked me to look in her ear for any sign of drainage or blood. I saw nothing. Within less then an hour the nasty stuff was coming out of her ear. I called the doctor immediately and they got her in. She has been on medicine ever since. I took her back this past Thursday because she is still having drainage...so they gave her a shot. Poor sweet baby. I think the shot has helped but she goes back on Monday and will probably have to have another shot since the drainage is not completely gone yet. I am just praying we do not have to put tubes in. On a lighter note.....

What is Aves up to these days
- finally cut her first tooth ( i had my first tooth before I was six months so she is taking after her daddy)
- took her first step and fell right on her sweet face
- loves making noises with her mouth
- are completely on formula now and are okay with it.
- loves pointing
- always clapping
- loves to copying whatever you do
- doesnt like to be left alone in a room
- loves chasing Maddie the dog
I know there is alot more...but this is all I can think about right now since she has just been loving on mommy all month b/c she has felt good.

Mommy I dont feel good...stop taking pictures. Oh, and no I dont dress her up when she is sick...we were on our way to another doctors appt.

Halloween was so fun this year since I had a little "doll" to dress up. Ha! I just dont know what I would do if I had a boy. Poor thing would probably be like Ken the barbie. Well actually it would be a lot easier b/c you dont have to dress a boy up just to run to the store, but you must always dress a girl up and put a bow in her hair (even if she pulls them out). So back to Halloween....we went to our church festival which was super crowded. We didnt end up staying long b/c Avery isnt old enough to play any of the games yet. She did get herself an animal balloon...she loves balloons. Then we headed over to Aunt JenJen and Uncle Kellys and visited for a while and then headed home for trick or treaters. Their were not many this year. Our neighbor had a halloween party and then at dark took the kiddos out but not to many kiddos were out. I think so many churches now are doing festival, which I is awesome. Avery had such a great first Halloween and look so cute in her ladybug costume.

Last week we went to Galveston with my dad and Amelia for a mini vacation. It was really suppose to be a fishing trip for my dad and Austin and I asked why the women couldnt come along. ha! Even though it rain a little we still had a great trip. I was really surprised to see some much still damaged from hurricane Ike.

This home was built before the 1900's....not sure if any heard of the hurricane that hit Galveston in the 1900's that killed thousands, but this house withheld the storm and resued about 200 people during the storm.

So another check that went great. Avery wasnt able to get her flu shot since they only had some that were preserved, which means the shots had mercury in them. We are hoping her doctor will get some in the next couple of weeks. Other then that everything looked great. Her stats are:
Weight 17.8 - 30%
Height 27 1/4 in- 40%
Her doctor was stretching the percentage.

WHAT AM I UP TO??

-wear 6-9 month clothing/size 3 shoe
-crawling and getting into everything
-loves chasing Maddie (our dog) but Maddie has nothing to do with her.
-pulling up and cruising along the furniture
-saying dada, daddy, mam, naaaaa
-you love your turtle lovie and will throw a fit if someone takes it from you
-you are a busy girl, you never sit still
-you are in the transition stage from breastmilk to formula
-loves making noises with your mouth
-a squealer
-loves to feed herself, so we have been trying to feed her whatever we eat...loves toast and jelly.
- gives sweet kisses....mouth wide open
-started doing patty cake....we cant roll it up yet.
-hates bows...as soon as they go on, she takes them off and inthe mouth they go.
-still no teeth yet, but she can gum anything and everything

First time to the Zoo

Avery had her first trip to the zoo.....it was Sopie's actually birthday and Melissa wanted to take her to the zoo and asked if Avery and I would like to come along. OF COURSE!!! All the girls had a great time. Avery wasnt so sure about feeding the birds...and either was I. We may have to invest in a zoo pass since we will be taking many more trips to the zoo and especially with daddy.
